8 Reasons to Join College Republicans

1. We bring amazing speakers to GW every year.

Whether it’s the Donald’s former campaign manager Corey Lewandowski or the outspoken former Congressman and Chair of the House Oversight Committee Jason Chaffetz, CRs never fails to host a brilliant speaker each semester.

2. FRIENDS!!

We all know that making friends can be difficult at the beginning of college. CRs is a great way to meet new people and get to know some of your classmates who share the same values as you!

3. You can vent about your liberal professors (and yes, you will definitely have a few).

We all have that one professor who still feels the Bern. Finding a fellow conservative in class can make a huge difference!

4. You will get tons of amazing internship opportunities.

Joining CRs will allow you to network and introduce you to internship and job opportunities on Capitol Hill and beyond!

5. You can participate in debates with other clubs.

Representing the College Republicans in debates is a great way to engage in dialogue with your peers who may disagree with you in a respectful environment, as well as a way to learn more about what the opposition's opinions are on hot button issues.

6. Joining committees to get involved.

Joining committees is a great way to get involved in College Republicans! You can get to know board members and help them execute their jobs by joining their committee, not to mention it's a great way to meet friends!

7. Bipartisanship!

We co-host lots of events with College Dems, especially for freshmen! It’s extremely important for us to have a good relationship with people who may disagree with us on political issues, because at the end of the day we are all one community as GW students. Having bipartisan events is an important part of being in College Republicans (especially since we are pretty much outnumbered), and it’s also a good way to hang out with your democratic friends!

8. Christmas Party! Events! Fun!!!

We host lots of social events for our members! Previous events include monument walks, ice skating, brunch, visiting the Pentagon 9/11 Memorial, and more. Our first event will be the Freshman Mixer shortly after the semester starts, followed by Freedom Fest. Continue checking our Facebook page and Group Me for more details about these fun events!

And finally...our famous Christmas Party!

Our Christmas Party is LEGENDARY!
